UPDATE: 9/28/2010 - Visual proof of the 2011-2011 Camaro Z28's Supercharged LSA engine (same engine used in the Cadillac CTS-V!). The LSA engine is a 6.2L Supercharged engine with 556 Horsepower @ 6100 rpms and 551 lb-ft of Torque @ 3800 rpms!! Also notice the Z28 prototype hood; it looks like the hood will have two heat extractor style vents.





















Testing of the 2012 Camaro Z/28 seems to be in full swing, says a spy photographer. There has also been a private viewing party for the 2010 Z28 Camaro as of last week, 9/10/2010. Rumors are that the viewing was of a clay-molded version of the Z28, a production replica.

Some new upgrades from the 2010 Camaro SS base model for the Z28: We can see a much larger air intake in the lower fascia, as well as a pronounced lip spoiler. Very similar to the Transformers edition Camaro front end. Word is spreading that the Z/28 front end will be quite close to the Transformers Camaro GM showed at the 2009 Chicago Auto Show. Notice that the rear wing is missing - could it be possible that they left it off because they are going to use the brand new "Dove Tail" or "Dale Earnhardt Jr version" rear spoiler by GM? Could they be remolding the side skirts/rocker panels slightly from the stock 2010 & 2011 Camaro versions? Also notice that the rear exhaust has dual tips on each side, as well as more aggressive looking mufflers.

The Z-28's side profile shows a serious wheel/tire/brake package. A set of 20-inch wheels, wrapped in Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar G:2 tires appear to be the order of the day for the Z/28, and the brakes appear to be the same found on the Cadillac CTS-V.

Clearly and unmistakenly taken from the CTS-V is the 6.2L LSA supercharged V8, which emits an exhaust note thats described as "unholy." Watch for the 2012 Camaro Z/28 to go on sale in Q1 or Q2 of 2011.
